Treatment using Acupuncture

and Chinese Medicine

What can Chinese Medicine Treat?

The Chinese philosophy of interconnection can explain how by optimising the functioning of the body, many conditions improve simultaneously. Often other areas of health improve alongside the main condition.

Every treatment is tailored to the individual and the symptoms presenting at the time. Therefore it is rare that two people are treated in exactly the same way, even if they are suffering from the same condition. However most conditions can be treated.

The individuality of the treatment is reflected in the thorough initial diagnosis which, including the first treatment, takes approximately 1.5 hours. Each following treatment is for 1 hour.

Chinese Medicine will usually involve a combination of acupuncture, moxibustion, gua-sha, cupping, massage and heat radiation. However many conditions are best treated by just one, two or three of these approaches.  For example musculo-skeletal problems are often treated with heat radiation, massage and acupuncture.

Dietary therapy may be an important aspect of any situation as would be Qi-gong/Tai Chi moves.

Pain Relief

My advanced study of the famous masters in Chinese medicine, for example Master Tung, empowers my use acupuncture points and channel diagnostic methods which are extremely effective for  pain relief. This has become a specialism.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming

NLP helps us achieve our life goals. This may be when our thought processes or emotions are preventing us from moving forwards. For example when addictions, fears and unpleasant past experiences hold us back from a happy healthy lifestyle. These visualisation techniques can be very helpful along with acupuncture to help with emotional and mental issues.

Gua Sha, Cupping

& Bleeding

Gua sha and cupping are ancient Chinese techniques which affect the fascia to free the path of Qi in the deeper levels of the body, addressing 'hard to move', frozen or painful conditions by unlocking deep tension of the muscles.

This can enhance the immune system and help release colds, flu and inflammation and may be used alongside acupuncture.

Bleeding techniques when indicated can be extremely helpful in the relief of pain and profoundly helpful to the psyche.
